Presentation

When Christian and Christine Lacour bought this former seventeenth-century farmhouse in 1998, their idea was clear: to restore it ecologically with the integration of renewable energies, while offering sustainable tourism. "I was born into ecology. To renovate this house, we simply put into practice the gestures we do-
we are already living in everyday life, with respect for the values that inhabit us, and in accordance with our authentic and environmentally friendly way of life". they say.

For the renovation, Christian will use natural materials already used such as lime, Loire sand, terracotta, slates, cotton and hemp for insulation as well as non-toxic paints. Grandson of a mason, he will do everything by himself while respecting the work of the elders.

"I wanted to show that it was simple to do ecology, and that it is accessible to all," he continues. Here, everything has been designed to limit the impact on the environment: waste sorting, composting, purification by plants, solar water heaters, photovoltaic electricity... At the time, it was the first fully eco-renovated farmhouse in France.
