Description
Overlooking the Loire Valley, in Chênehutte, at the gates of Saumur, our 17th century farmhouse renovated with ecological materials, and a Safari tent coexist in a two hectare park. In Maison Joulin, we cultivate simplicity, authenticity, and the art of hospitality in the spirit of a large family house.
Come and enjoy a quiet and bucolic break in the heart of unspoiled nature that stretches along the Loire Valley. The Loire Anjou Touraine Regional Natural Park is known for its mosaic of forests and ponds, its humid valleys, its moors, its vineyards and its hillsides which attract many animals and where flora also flourishes. In the middle of a wooded park, make yourself comfortable in the Safari Sérengeti tent, your only neighbors will be deer, frogs and birds.
Our eco-friendly ecolodge is open. Our two rooms are completely independent and you have at your disposal a small kitchen.Thus your security against the virus is assured. We leave two full days between each reservation as a precaution and we disinfect all rooms with natural products certified virucices.
Our ecolodge has been around since 2000. We have two eco-friendly guest rooms in our house and a Serengeti safari tent at the back of the park.
We created this place with respect for the values that inhabit us: authenticity, simplicity and respect for the environment.
Our farmhouse is totally ecological as well as the two guest rooms.
The Safari tent in its green setting, at the bottom of the one-hectare park, has a large balcony open to nature with an outdoor lounge area. It is open from May to September.
Since the beginning we have always favored ecotourism and Slow Tourism, taking the time to discover.
For this capricious New Year, we have adapted the reception in our rooms and the safari tent to guarantee safety for all.
That is why we have installed a small kitchen in each room and the tent.
Two options are available: weekly or nightly rental (with a minimum of two nights)
Organic breakfasts are included and you can book organic dinners and wines with cooked dishes from my artisanal cannery. I can offer you the basket of fresh organic vegetables, cheeses and fresh seasonal fruits, every day of your stay.
All you have to do is plan your daily activities, with Christian, your host, who will guide you in your desires

When Christian and Christine Lacour bought this former seventeenth-century farmhouse in 1998, their idea was clear: to restore it ecologically with the integration of renewable energies, while offering sustainable tourism. "I was born into ecology. To renovate this house, we simply put into practice the gestures we do-
we are already living in everyday life, with respect for the values that inhabit us, and in accordance with our authentic and environmentally friendly way of life". they say.
For the renovation, Christian will use natural materials already used such as lime, Loire sand, terracotta, slates, cotton and hemp for insulation as well as non-toxic paints. Grandson of a mason, he will do everything by himself while respecting the work of the elders.
"I wanted to show that it was simple to do ecology, and that it is accessible to all," he continues. Here, everything has been designed to limit the impact on the environment: waste sorting, composting, purification by plants, solar water heaters, photovoltaic electricity... At the time, it was the first fully eco-renovated farmhouse in France
